Project Overview
iVibe was a weekly Friday night EDM event at Fuze Box in Albany, NY, featuring rotating DJs, high‑energy electronic music, and an immersive club atmosphere. The event blended live visual performance with dynamic lighting to create a distinctive experience for regular attendees and new audiences alike.
My Contributions
I served as the event’s VJ and Lighting Technician, responsible for programming and operating intelligent lighting fixtures, creating live visual content, and shaping the overall aesthetic of each night. My work included synchronizing lighting and video elements with DJ sets, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, and designing looks that matched the pacing, style, and energy of the music.

As the dedicated VJ and lighting technician for iVibe, I played a central role in defining the visual identity of the event. Working in a fast‑paced club environment, I crafted real‑time visual experiences that responded directly to the music and the crowd. This required a blend of technical expertise, artistic intuition, and the ability to adapt quickly during live performance.

Technical Approach

My workflow combined lighting programming with live video manipulation to create a cohesive, music‑driven atmosphere. I utilized a mix of moving lights, LEDs, strobes, and haze effects, paired with beat‑matched visuals triggered and layered in real time. Each week brought different DJs and musical styles, so I developed a flexible programming strategy that allowed for rapid adjustments and improvisation throughout the night.

Design Philosophy

The goal of iVibe’s visual design was to amplify the energy of the music and enhance the audience’s immersion. I focused on rhythmic lighting cues, bold color palettes, and dynamic visual transitions that complemented the tempo and tone of each set. Whether building tension during a slow build or unleashing high‑intensity effects during a drop, every cue was crafted to elevate the emotional arc of the performance.

Team Collaboration & Live Environment

I collaborated closely with resident and guest DJs, event promoters, sound engineers, and venue staff to ensure smooth operations and a consistent show quality. Effective communication was essential during rapid changeovers and live troubleshooting. This environment strengthened my ability to make fast, informed decisions and maintain technical reliability under pressure.
